How do I get motivated?

How do I get motivated?

It is already the middle of February and I can’t remember the last time I was out in the studio. The weather here in North Carolina has been the worse in the 18 years we have lived here. It has been so cold and raining that all I have wanted to do was curl up under a blanket and sleep. I think a lot of that is depression as well. I would like to blame it on the weather, but I can’t and I won’t go into here. But I have been working on a website project and studying for a certification, so my play time has been limited. Knock on wood…I didn’t get the flu, but I have been sick because of the weather between sinuses and allergies.

Since pottery is not how I earn a living, it takes a back burner to everything else. But that will change soon…I hope.  I have been working on ideas and making prototypes, with modeling clay, I just need to get in the studio. If it is warm out tomorrow, which it is supposed to be, then I plan on spending a couple of hours out there. That’s better than nothing.

Well, heres hoping my plans pan out.

Happy Day!

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit” — Aristotle (384 BC – 322 BC) Greek Philosopher
